FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Nashville Roots-Rock Band Don Pedigo & The Coyotes Release Debut LP via Damnit Roy Records

NASHVILLE, TENN. — Roots-Rock/Americana band, Don Pedigo & The Coyotes, will release their debut LP, Like I’ve Been Here Before, on November 19, 2021 via Damnit Roy Records.

In late 2019, six years after tragically losing his son to an overdose, Singer-Songwriter Don Pedigo began to pick up the pieces, forming his band The Coyotes, which American Songwriter Magazine cited as marking, “a turning point,” in the Alt-Country artist’s career. Then, just a mere two weeks after filming the promotional video for their 2020 tour dates, the Covid-19 pandemic caused those plans to be canceled or postponed.

Recorded at the renowned Dark Horse Studios in Franklin, TN, Like I’ve Been Here Before is a collection of songs that have been steeped in American roots-rock tradition, tinged with a modern alternative country sound and thoughtfully crafted together by Don Pedigo & The Coyotes over the last 18 months, during these difficult times of little to no live touring. The title track from the album, "Like I’ve Been Here Before", written by Pedigo and Scott Laurent, is an intense and brooding foot-stomper of a song, surely to connect with Fans of Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and The SteelDrivers.

The album includes previously released singles, “I Miss Mississippi”, “Black Carpet” and “Smalltown Maze”, which were co-written by Pedigo and John Goodwin (Brad Paisley, Jeff Bridges). The collection also features two cover songs particularly close to Pedigo’s heart, including the band’s unique take on The Replacements’ classic, “Achin’ To Be” and “Beam Me Up”, originally performed by Pop artist, P!NK, and slated to release as a single on October 22, 2021. A portion of the song's sales will go directly to Overdose Lifeline, where Pedigo is an artist partner.

“‘Beam Me Up’ hit me hard in dealing with the loss of my son. It’s hard to listen to, especially with my wife Kimmy,” says Pedigo. “Even though there’s pain, there’s something peaceful about experiencing those feelings. I think it’s because we sometimes let feelings out for a while before we put them away again. They hurt too much to look at all the time, but it hurts more to think of letting any connection with them go. I wish I could send a more beautiful and happy message. More than a message though, a lesson or a reminder - Cherish and celebrate your loves often because someday someone won’t be here anymore. I truly wish our son could beam us up there, even for a minute.”
